To run Luke you will need a personal computer running Microsoft Windows 95 or above, and an internet connection (Broadband, or DSL suggested), at least 50 MB of free hard disk space.
Find the download button on the web page and follow the instructions, it will ask you for a username and an email address, once you proceed it will then send you an email to verify that your account exists . This email will contain a web page link that will take you to the registration page for Luke, here you will have two choices, either downloading the free limited version or purchasing the Pro version. If you proceed with the free limited version, it will download Luke onto your PC where you will go and install it, If however you decide to purchase the Pro version (recommended, Good choice, well done) then you will be redirected to our secure server to buy the Pro version of Luke using your credit card, Once you have completed the necessary forms for purchase, it will download Luke onto your PC where you will go and install it.
If you have the free version of Luke you can pay for the Pro version using your credit cards through secured servers; this can be done by going to the web page www.plentyplenty.com and upgrade to the Pro Version.

When downloading the software, your web browser may ask whether you want to save the file or open it from its current location. It is recommended that you save the file to a directory on your computer’s hard drive. This way you can reinstall the software at a later date without having to download it again. After the download is complete, you can install the software by double-clicking on the file.
If you have Windows XP with SP2 make sure you havepop-ups enabled. This will enable the secured pop up window to appear to allow you to pay for this program.
Once you have downloaded the file “Luke_install.exe”, double click it and follow the easy instructions. Allow the installation program to install the software into its chosen directory, If the directory does not exist, then it will be created for you. It will also create a Desktop icon, which once the installation has finished; you may execute the program by “double-clicking” that icon.
The first time you open the program it will ask you for your username and password, which has been sent to you by email, after you have put the information in it brings you a screen which says “Welcome 2 Luke”. At this stage all you have to do is click on connect and go to the search page and start working.
If you have any Firewall or Antivirus Programs, make sure you enable the file sharing option, this will appear as a pop-up when you start using Luke to have incoming files these programs will ask you if you would like to either “permit” or “deny” incoming traffic, in order for you to use Luke to have incoming shared files you have to permit this program to allow incoming files.
To View in other languages: Go to Start, Settings, Control Panel, Regional & Language Options, Go to Advanced tab and change the language to the one you want, once this has been done it may ask you to restart the PC, do the next procedure before restarting.
To write in other languages: Go to Start, Settings, Control Panel, Regional & Language Options, Go to Languages tab and add any language as a second or third language, once this has been done it may ask you to restart the PC, Do so and when you restart it will give you the option of 2/3 languages on the bottom right part of the task bar.
There are many ways to search on Luke:One of the main and unique features is to search by language, this is done by selecting the language you require in the language field, and then in the artist field you will get a list of all artists available for that language, once you have selected the artist, press search, and a list of all the files for that artist will appear, then double click the file you want and a green arrow will appear next to the file, which will indicate that the file you have selected will go into your shared files directory.

If you want to search for all files for a specific language select the language you want and then press search now.

To use the simple search facility without using the other fields, just type the name of the file you require and then press the “search now” button.

The new search button is available for you to be able to clear your previous searches, once pressed this will remove all writing from any box (field) and enable you to start a new search.
The options buttons enable you to make many choices, each one is explained below, and once you have pressed a button it changes color to orange to indicate that you are on that page.
connect/disconnect – This button connects & disconnects you from Luke
Search – This will take you to the search page.
Incoming – This will show your incoming files.
Outgoing – This will show your outgoing files.
Shared files – This will show the files you have available for sharing.
Settings –This will show your program settings.
FAQ – This will help you if you have any problems whilst connected to the program.
Help – This will bring you the “Help” screen on the Internet as a web page
Exit – Exits
The Incoming Screen will show the incoming files.

The Outgoing Screen will show the outgoing files

The Settings Screen will allow you to setup your account and details which include shared files directory, username, password and amount of incoming/outgoing files.

Not Necessarily, There are other players available on the market that supports all formats. However you can play a file that you have by pressing the play button on the bottom of the Incoming Screen, the file you have selected will automatically play on your default player.
There is a free version of the software and a paid version, periodically you will receive a message asking if you would like to upgrade to the Pro version which will give you all capabilities of this software unlike the free version which has limitations.
On the Shared Files Page there is a button marked “Refresh Files, this is to reload the files that you have in the shared directory, in order to avoid having to restart Luke if you want to add or remove files from the shared directory.
On average, a 4-5 megabyte file using a 56 Kbps dial-up modem would take about 15 minutes dependent on your ISP (Internet Service Providers) If you have a Cable/DSL or any other broadband connection, it should take a lot less time.
Under normal circumstances it shouldn’t, but if you are experiencing any problems, it is advisable to contact your network administrator to make any changes in the network settings if required.
Go to the Settings page by pressing the “Settings” button, then look at the Advanced Section, This will show you exactly the directory where you have your incoming files, you can, if you so wish, change the download directory to another part of your hard disk, or once you have downloaded the files you require, remove them from your hard disk.
Under normal circumstances when an update is available, A Pop-up will inform you that an update is available. If you want to update manually or just check to see if there is an update then go to the Settings page by pressing the Settings button, then look at the Advanced Section, there is a button that says “Check for Update” This will check to see whether there is an update available and will update Luke, it will download the new version of Luke, install the update, then close Luke and restart your computer with the new updates. If there isn’t an update it will say “No Update Available at this time”
Your version can be seen at the bottom left hand corner of the page under the globe.
